Before the collapse of the Soviet Union, the borders of Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan were almost non-existent. However, now, they have become unbreakable barriers. The director goes back to Central Asia, where she was born, to try and understand the reasons for these changes and to find out how they have disrupted the lives of people living in the region.
