His future looked glorious. The battles, the achievements, the medals. Unscrupulously from one war to the next. However, one day in 1957 he refuses to obey orders justifying the use of torture during the war in Algeria.
“Globetrotter par excellence” he turns to the side of non-violence. The destiny of General Jacques de Bollardière represents a unique case in modern history. While the memory of the Algerian war remains vague on both sides of the Mediterranean his act continues to intrigue us.
