Crack in the Head, Crack in the Sky

In this psychiatric ward deep in the Parisian suburbs, I have spent the last 10 years meeting people with broken hearts and shattered minds, often filled with desires, delusions and anxieties. Together with them, I imagine—for the duration of a film—that they might take on tasks within the ward, should the staff ever be short-handed. Little by little, this crazy idea fades in the face of the abysses of their inner worlds… as much as in the face of the harsh reality of sedation and the isolation room, which seem to be the only solutions to a psychotic crisis when it strikes.
