In 1940, Euphrosinia Kersnovskaya, known as Frosia, was a young landowner living in Bessarabia. She was 33 years old when the USSR invaded the country and sentenced her to relegation to Siberia. There began 18 years of wandering in the heart of the Gulag, which she recounted in 680 drawings with captions and dialogue of exceptional precision. The film is based on these drawings. A rare woman's eye view that takes us into the darkness of Soviet history and into the light of an exceptional being.
