The Emir Abdel Kader club in Algiers is an exception in the ultra masculine world of soccer. It is a women’s soccer club that defies the taboos and the constraints of the patriarchal Algerian society. It is a unique place where women from all walks of life meet, play and fight together to conquer what Algeria refuses to women: autonomy, professional achievement, and the acceptance of the woman’s body. They are pioneers stepping out of the recent, dark and violent history of Algeria, shedding light to the heart of the future generations.
