Eleonor, Jutta, Elli, Carola and Lilo are American citizens.
Perfectly at home there, it’s hard to imagine what these women have endured in their lives. Nevertheless, they were all born in Germany, brought up under the Nazis and the bombings. Just out of their teens, all five of them married American soldiers and left their homes for a new world and a new life.
Sixty years later they tell their story.
